Heading back to Austin

One year ago this week, my directorial debut Off Track Betty screened at the impossibly awesome Austin Film Festival. Next week, I head back to attend again, both as an alum and as a screener for this year's short film entries. I watched scores and scores of shorts and helped to contribute to what I believe will be an excellent collection of short films at this year's festival. I'm very proud to have been a part of it and excited to go back to see the festival staff and audiences who were so supportive of my work last year, and to meet new friends and see inspiring new work.

Austin is unusual in that it's a writer's festival: the focus is on screenwriting. The opening weekend of the festival is a screenwriter's conference that offers a deep dive into a dizzying array of aspects of the industry and the craft. It's professional development, a roller coaster and a house party all in one. Thrilled to be going back!
